Imporatant The Hindu Editorial Vocabulary is an important part of SBI Clerk, SBI PO, SSC CGL and other exams. A major portion of the question paper tests your knowledge on vocabulary . To help you prepare, We brings you a list of commonly asked words in any competitive exam.In order to make it easy for all the aspirants,we have started our series named 'English Vinglish'. We have posted Important Vocabulary  in Hindi  and Tamil as well so that you can easily memorize them.

Seldom(adverb):
- कभी कभी, यदा-कदा,  எப்போதாவது, அபூர்வமாய்
- not often: almost never
Synonyms: infrequently, little, rarely
Antonyms: frequently, oft, often, oftentimes

Sustain(verb):
- बनाए रखना, जीवित रखना, தக்க, வாத ஆதாரங்கொடு
- to provide what is needed for (something or someone) to exist, continue, etc.
Synonyms: nourish, nurture, cater, provision, victual

Perception(noun):

- अनुभूति, समझना, கருத்து, காணக் கூடிய
- the way you think about or understand someone or something
-  the ability to understand or notice something easily
Synonyms: discernment, insight, wisdom, perceptiveness
Antonyms: density, dullness, illogic, irrationality

Concerted(adjective):
- ठोस, अनुकूल, ஒருங்கிணைந்த, ஒருமுகப்பட்ட
- done in a planned and deliberate way usually by several or many people
Synonyms: collaborative, combined,  public, shared, united
Antonyms: exclusive, individual, one-man, one-sided

Conviction(noun):
- दोषसिद्धि, प्रतीति, தண்டனை, குற்றவாளி என நிர்ணயித்தல்
- a strong belief or opinion
-  the feeling of being sure that what you believe or say is true
Synonyms: certainty, certitude, cocksureness, confidence
Antonyms: doubt, incertitude, nonconfidence, uncertainty

Exhibition(noun):
- प्रदर्शनी, नुमाइश, கண்காட்சி, பொருட்காட்சி
- an act of showing some quality or trait,
-  the act of showing something in public
Synonyms: display, exhibit, expo, exposition

Patience(noun):

- धीरज, सहनशीलता, பொறுமை, அமைதி
- the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming
annoyed or anxious.
Synonyms: long-suffering, sufferance, tolerance
Antonyms: impatience, resistance, willfulness

Plague(noun):
- प्लेग, दैवी कोप, கொள்ளை நோய்
- a large number of harmful or annoying things
- a disease that causes death and that spreads quickly to a large number of people
Synonyms:  pest, pestilence, blight, curse, scourge

Incorporate(adjective):
- निगमित, सम्मिलित, இணைக்கப்பட்டது
- of a company or other organization) formed into a legal corporation.
Synonyms: absorb, assimilate, integrate
Antonyms: break down, break up, separate

Scrutiny(noun):
- समीक्षा, अनुसंधान, மீளாய்வு
- the act of carefully examining something especially in a critical way: the act of
scrutinizing   something
Synonyms: audit, check, checkup, examination
Antonyms: flash, glance, glimpse, peek, peep

Coagulate(verb):
- जमना, गाढ़ा होना, கெட்டியாக்குதல், கட்டியாகு
- to become thick and partly solid
Synonyms: clot, congeal, gel, gelate
Antonyms: deliquesce, flux, fuse, liquefy

Liability(noun):
- दायित्व, आर्थिक दायित्व, பொறுப்பு, கடமை

Revamped(verb):

Dependable(adjective):

- भरोसे का, भरोसे के लायक़ நம்பகமான, பொறுப்பக்குரிய
- able to be trusted to do or provide what is needed: able to be depended on
Synonyms: calculable, good, reliable, responsible, safe
Antonyms: dodgy, uncertain, undependable, unreliable

Obligation(noun):

- कर्तव्य, प्रतिज्ञा, கடமை, நன்றிக்கடன்
-  something that you must do because of a law, rule, promise, etc.
Synonyms: burden, charge, commitment, devoir
Antonyms: grace, postponement, stay, discharge


Restricted (adjective):
- वर्जित, प्रतिबद्ध, தடை, வறையரைப்படுத்து
-  having definite rules about what or who is allowed and not allowed
Synonyms: bounded, circumscribed, defined, definite,
Antonyms: boundless, dimensionless, endless, illimitable

Vulnerable(adjective):
- चपेट में, आलोचनीय, பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடிய, தாக்கப்படத்தக்க
- easily hurt or harmed physically, mentally, or emotionally
Synonyms: endangered, exposed, open, sensitive
Antonyms: insusceptible, invulnerable, unexposed, unsusceptible

Afford(verb):
- बर्दाश्त, जुटाना, வாங்க, உண்டாக்கு
- to be able to do (something) without having problems or being seriously harmed
- to supply or provide (something needed or wanted) to someone
Synonyms: go, swing, get, obtain, procure

Sovereign(noun):
- प्रभु, सम्राट, இறையாண்மை, அரசன்
-  a British gold coin that was used in the past
Synonyms: arch, big, capital, cardinal, central
Antonyms: last, least, collateral, inferior, secondary

Feasible(adjective):
- संभव, शक्य, சாத்தியமான, செய்தக்க
-  possible to do
-  possible and practical to do easily or conveniently.
Synonyms: achievable, attainable, doable, possible, practicable
Antonyms: hopeless, impossible, impracticable, infeasible, nonviable

Desirable (adjective):
- वांछित, आकर्षक, விரும்பத்தக்கதாக, விரும்பத்தக்க
- having good or pleasing qualities: worth having or getting
Synonyms: bodacious, sexy, dishy, hot, luscious
Antonyms: impolitic, imprudent, inadvisable, inexpedient

Interventions(noun):
- हस्तक्षेप, हस्तक्षेप, தலையீடு, இடையீடு
- to come or occur between two times or events
- to happen as an unrelated event that causes a delay or problem
Synonyms: involvement, intercession, interceding, interposing
Antonyms: stand by, avoid, eschew, shun
